I can watch an entire episode of a “comedy” show and not laugh. I think about how networks have these high paid comedy writers working 12 hour days to get America to just roll over with laughter at the sight of their gag jokes or a simple play on words. I think about how no matter what they finally decide on, it wont be funny. I think about how it could’ve been better, how if they just omitted a few words, I could’ve at least chuckled. I don’t watch many comedy shows just for this reason. But now and again, I think about the people paid to be serious, write dramas, write episode after episode and movie after movie, about these extremely serious situations that we couldn’t even comprehend. And then I see this t-shirt and suddenly the line between serious and comedy is blurred and I am falling out of my chair in tears of laughter.
