singascene #01: Finders, Keepers
August 9th, 2011. While everyone else is enjoying their super long weekend from calling in sick yesterday, I’m still happily jobless, and I find myself putting together a little mixtape. Armed with considerable online stalking skills and a propensity to download everything I come across, I’ve collected a small stash of forgotten music from my favourite bands — early demos, ripped off abandoned MySpace’s, tracks shared on blogs long deserted, recordings taken from that friend who knows that guy in that band. Some of these might’ve seen limited release physically or online, but those that haven’t… well, I found them anyway. I’ve kept it to the more recognisable names of the past few years, but even loyal fans should be able to find something new.
So it is with some pride — the patriotic kind, mind, lest I be labeled as some kind of indie snob, which I might be, but that is not within the scope of this post — that I present to you singascene #01. I’ve already put in the hard work as a slightly deranged fan and musical pack rat; you need only move your mouse a little over this way to share in the spoils.

No Time For Love, Only… Guitar? At 1am? Hello guys
KittyWu x PRAISE t-shirt inspired by I Am David Sparkle’s There Is No Time For Love, Only Chaos
Not sure if these are the final designs, but here ya go. I think the Amberhaze shirt would’ve worked much better with a full-size print on black. It’d make a great poster though!
Previously mentioned: KittyWu x Praise Compilation + T-shirts
(via CATALOG)
KittyWu x Praise Compilation
KittyWu Records and designer t-shirt boutique Praise have come up with two t-shirt designs inspired by song titles from two bands under the KittyWu stable.
Each tee comes wrapped in a cool vinyl sleeve mimicking a record, as well as a free music compilation download.
Retailing at $35 each, you can pick them up from Oct 2010 at all Praise outlets.
The tracklist is suuuuper:
Just gotta wait and see the t-shirts…
FANMAIL TIME! By which I mean mail from bands that I am a fan of. One day it will be regular boring fanmail of the mail-from-fans variety. But for now here’s the I Am David Sparkle ‘Live’ at Cactus Records bootleg from their trip to SXSW last year (awesome packaging as usual) and a bunch of Caracal merch.
The old Lunarin CDR wasn’t mail but it was $6 at the Esplanade shop!
It’s a busy month ahead and I can’t make it to at least half of these, so you really have to go and tell me all about it. All events free unless otherwise stated!
