Akta Angkasa - Kognitif >
I hate to say it, but there’s a lot of shitty “experimental” rock coming out of the region these days. Akta Angkasa are one of the few bands doing any serious experimenting to my ears, challenging themselves with new and old effects and sounds and not falling into the post-rock for post-rock’s sake attitude that is really hurting the scene.
Well just listen to the damned thing. It starts good, gets better, and that last minute with the arpeggiator synth is pure magic.
Picked up a copy of I>JPN (postcards by Driv Loo + music by Flica) at Pipit Wonderful Market, a delightful little arts & crafts festival we found quite by accident in KL’s Central Market
