Us performing Postcards at Baybeats, 2011. Thanks Tasha!
This night was amazing
Anechois - Your Absence Is Permanent (live)
If you’ll excuse my conceitedness, I love playing this song so much I want to have its babies. We’re hitting Se7en1nch again with some very fine bands like Achilous, Andrew Sane, and Dulcinea on the 30th. Details here!
Anechois - The Artist’s Mind
First show. I just want to gaze at my shoes I don’t like playing lead ﹋﹏﹋
Pleasantry’s very first song for a short film. Here’s a 3-minute excerpt of a film directed by Mohd Salihin.

Pleasantry at NUS Radio Pulze Live Lounge
I’m digging the new band — odd rhythms, dirty guitar, kinda Broken Social Scene vibe. Definitely more than Postbox reincarnate.
Pleasantry will be playing Roktober 2011 at Timbre @ The Substation on 20th October.
B-Quartet - Beautiful Crash
Sounding their best at Spread The Love 2011. Praying for Luqman’s speedy recovery.

Really cool guitar, I wish I didn’t have to choose between the 173529 different gigs tonight.
B-Quartet jamming, 2008 (video by Jun)
I guess this jam didn’t make the cut, but 10 points if you recognise the vocal riff that made it to ‘Question Problem’ on the last album.
basically, in the next few months to come, i will be presenting several solo performances around town, primarily to share my developments in alternative music systems and narratives.
a little background:
presently i am conducting a study on alternative music systems, particularly one which reflects and expresses globalized Asia, if not just Singapore. in this study, my interest is in reinterpreting the already present ideas of music and reconstructing them to what i would deem a vocabulary which best represents the social / psychological climate here. my philosophy is that music, ultimately, is a subjective listening experience, comprising of sounds or no-sounds, organized or otherwise, encapsulated in a time frame, relevant to the individual listener. that by subjecting music to categorization is nothing more than a mere attempt at communicating the music made, but that in itself, has no definite value to the actual composition, only an idea. With no doubt, Bani Haykal is the only local artist that truly inspired me to pursue in writing and art. I fell in love with him the first time I watched him play in B-Quartet at the Esplanade four years ago and have loved him to date. I’m pretty happy that he’ll be curating this weekend’s Night Festival as well as performing together with Mux. I’ve yet to thank him for being a great influence to me but.
This was a good gig!
One of the questions I get asked the most is “How do you know when all those gigs are happening?”
How did Professor X walk in The Last Stand if he was paralysed in First Class? How did Julia Roberts turn a croissant into a pancake in Pretty Woman? I don’t know. Shit happens. But at least now you can know when those gigs are happening.
